#action figures

Beetle Rex

  • from HoneHoneZaurus Series 40
  • by Kabaya

This was a Sunday afternoon project. We entered the Hone Zone.

One of these days I'll complete a wave and build that ultimate figure.

You'd think it would be this one - consisting of only 4 figures, pulling from the series earliest entries in celebration of their 20th anniversary.
An easy one to collect and build - but still I only picked up this one.

I guess I have trouble committing.

Special Effects

Now for something a little different.
This is how I store the effects parts I use most often. Everything organized and kept in a covered container so they stay nice and clean for the next set of shots.

I have a bigger drawer where I keep larger and more obscure pieces. But these are the ones I keep coming back to, so I want to keep on-hand.

This is a combination of a Daiso flashcard storage bin and Daiso drawer organizers in varying sizes. I do wish I could find a container with a flat (stackable) top and squared edges - but finding something at this depth is tough.
Especially one what works so well.

KAWS x General Mills
Monster Mascot

Back when I posted my KAWS x Kubrick set, I said it was probably the only KAWS piece I'll be able to afford.

But here we have a new KAWS release - and it was free!

Ok, so maybe they're not the most extravagant toys in my collection. But they're very unique, and very cool.

These were released as part of a lottery with General Mills for terror Halloween monster cereals. You buy a box (Fruit Brute in my case, the superior choice) and you can enter online. I said "eh why not," entered and forgot about it.

Two months later they emailed me that I won a set, and it showed up in the mail a month later.

Very simple, but a throwback to bygone era of freebie toys. And the packaging art (which of course I'm saving) is very cool.
