...features. Upon last update, MiserablePileofWords and CaffeinatedOtter had developed substantial amounts of export ready code to add to the Cohost.Py.... thing. Someone left a comment explaining what this thing is and I still didn't get it clearly, so assume that's an element at play here. Look at the thread here CLICK ME to see what's been put out publicly so far. If you're an author, the tools should be ready to go for you if you can fix some coding typos I'm told ship with the cohost.py download.
I believe what may be on the feature list for implementation is pictures, hinted at extracting comments too. I'll check in with them today to see how things are going since it's been a minute due to me being sick AF with a lovely sinus infection. Once these tools are done and I have a chance to trial them, it'll be time to do a biiiiig push to get them available and handy for people. I also wanna talk to my peeps about some kind of easier to use format for laymen as right now it's a bit technical and hands on to implement for me. I'm told the existing updates as-is are more than functional.
Explaining my paranoia about Cohost is something that has brought up a few salty interactions with the community on my Main Account, and I still have some last legs to do on research to fully explain myself. But, if you're familiar with how Tumblr went, you should be reading the room on the broader picture of web 2.0 collapse and be skeptical of social media organizations that communicate infrequently and inconsistently. A famous example is how Furaffinity.net got acquired by IMVU and it is owed entirely to Dragoneer's personal finances and foolish desire to return to owning the site that it didn't get murdered by policy changes in payment processors just yet.
I hope Cohost lasts, it has to be said because people mistake skepticism for doomerism. Concerns about the structure of the company, how it interacts with regulators and tax authorities, and the broader picture of Queer Erasure online should have you ensuring you have lifeboats for if and/or when the ship unexpectedly sinks.
Ratgirl Isekai will resume shortly, as will routine shitposting and other thoughts, but I wanted to get that out. Love.
