I'm really happy! I had an vague idea of what I wanted to draw beforehand and a few references to help; I ended up going completely off track, but i'm very happy with the result! There's a few things I would like to tweak; but I think I'd rather keep this drawing as an untouched first attempt.

january 2024's monthly zine, « MERISTEM », is a 16-page booklet at a tiny scale, printed in black ink on textured kraft paper, housed in a small envelope featuring an abstract motif.
this month, and to start the new year, i wanted to start off fresh with new abstractions and variations in form with organic shapes and tiny plants at their core. i made eight standalone collages, and four larger ones that are either bisected by the zine's layout or frankensteined together, offering a differing pace and view throughout.
a big goal for this year is to grow the subscriber base for this project a bit. i'm a queer nonbinary working artist with disabilities related to mental health, and this project helps build a baseline of stability in my life while continuing to prioritize growth in my creative practice. it is a sizable endeavor to create a new publication with all-new work every four weeks--and i've been doing it since november 2020, without fail! your support makes these explorations possible--if you're interested in my work and what i do here, i would be most grateful if you'd consider supporting this project for $5 or $10/mo usd (i can mail anywhere in the world). thank you!
