Comic page 1/6: A woman with long hair and a thick collar with ring kneels impassively on the floor next to a monitor-head person, who is adjusting her own look in a bathroom mirror. A shadow falls from the doorway--someone is watching them. The monitor-head comments glibly on the stranger, but moves on and asks the woman if she wants grooming before her bouts start. The woman barks her affirmative, and the monitor-head invites her up onto the counter.

Comic page 2/6: The long-haired woman gradually has her hair cut and shaved away until her hair is buzzed down to her skin. Throughout, the monitor-head's hands are seen caring for her, and the unseen monitor-head talks her through the process, telling the woman she hopes this makes her feel good before she "[goes] out there, big girl" and soothing her through an uncomfortable middle stage of the haircut. At the end, freshly shaven, the woman is glowing with her joy at the fresh cut. The monitor-head exclaims, "So handsome!"

Comic page 3/6: The monitor-head leaves the bathroom on a mission to get the woman's forgotten kit from the car. She commands the woman to "stay!" and the woman again barks acknowledgment. The stranger from the doorway, seeing her chance after the monitor-head leaves, yells at the woman to come over and run out before the monitor-head comes back. She reveals that she's "Auntie ______", and she remembers the woman from her childhood. "You were such a cute girl." The woman, hackles raised, presses herself against the wall as the auntie's shadow falls over her, apprehensive as the auntie bemoans the woman's perceived treatment by the monitor-head. "You poor thing. Treated like an animal." However, when the auntie admonishes, "It's disgusting, what that DYKE'S done to you," her mouth sets.

Comic page 4/6: The woman, in full fury, snarls her discontent. Two faint outlines of wolf heads with their jaws open are imposed over her face radiating outwards, and a houndstooth pattern warps away from her over the page. The auntie, frightened, runs away from the bathroom.

Comic page 5/6: The woman is left alone in the bathroom. A tear drops down her open-mouthed face as she gasps for breath. Suddenly, there are hands on her back, just below where her collar sits. She's embraced by the monitor-head as she continues to cry with her mouth still set in her snarl. "Brave girl." At the bottom of the page, a large building with a colonnade holding up a separate roof over an outdoor space rears up, with a large banner over the front stating "TOURNAMENT."

Comic 6/6: Two sets of feet: a pair of high-heeled shoes walking ahead of a pair of thick-leathered service boots with woodsman heels. Below, the monitor-head (now clad in a low-cut dress showing off her cleavage) and the woman (fit with a wire muzzle, her usual collar, and a cuirass with a canid-head motif with hugely-rounded pauldrons) walk through a crowd, where fellow contestants are either cheering them on or looking nervous in their presence. At the bottom right, the woman's face is close-up, still muzzled, but relaxed and smiling.

I came across a panel from "Our Dreams at Dusk" while searching for inspiration today. It was so pretty I decided to replicate it, it still suprise me how beautiful this manga is.
The character name in the panel is Misora Shūji. I relate deeply to them and their struggles. They mean a lot to me.
Though there a lot of things I've would like to be able to improve, I'm happy about today's drawing.
I think I'm gonna need more diverse tools, a lot of lines require a precision I'm not able to get with only a pencil. _{Or maybe it's a skill issue.}
