I LOVE AMBIENCE GAME STYLED WRITING

cohost is literally the only place that doesn't cut off Echo's head and feet when uploading (at least that I can see on my end). Thank you cohost your previews are great.

I did a full body image for Echo from my novel, Electric Dreams! I finished typing up Part 2 of the novel (of which the word count is now over 100k lol we are not going to talk about that), so I figured I should celebrate by drawing Echo before plot hits him with a truck in the next part.

Anyway, my guitar playing android just hoping to do a good job!

i have mixed feelings about 2023. i guess there are many ways i can break and keep the promises i made with myself? it's weird

but either way, the year is done! i haven't sat down with myself to actually process all the shit i went through yet, but i'll get there (eventually)

some thoughts:

  • made a habit of spending A LOT of time on certain pieces over the course of weeks (and in the case of the featured January illustration, months)

  • decided to go the OPPOSITE direction and gave myself less time to obsess over a piece by making the process simpler and more streamlined for myself, best shown in the featured pieces for August and September!

  • merch production! making art exclusively to be sold; a lot of trial and error was involved, and i'm still not sure how i want to go on about it, but i do want to continue selling my art at conventions

  • speaking of conventions, i joined three this year!! 1st one was through proxy, and the other 2 times were with friends; the latter significantly enhanced my experiences with cons by 100000%

  • started making comics again! i miss comics, and the unreasonable expectation i have on myself to make them look presentable is likely what makes the whole thing intimidating to me, but i can change that

in conclusion

i want to allow myself to make stuff without worrying about how others might perceive it! or how i myself might perceive it!!! it's exhausting, and i'm exhausted, but i want to keep going indefinitely, so

onwards to 2024!
