ok. western au. none of this is real but i think it would be fun to write about cuz im currently having a field day with it
tsuru has a farm in the middle of nowhere that she tends by herself. not too big, but still hard work for just one person. she holds on to religion for her dear life because she feels it slowly slipping away from her. she essentially forces herself to keep going but internally she feels its killing her.
yuzuru is a criminal on the run, shes wanted for murder and she escaped her town on horseback. she has no money to her name and struggles to keep herself and her horse alive out in the desert. she disguises herself as a man to get by.
yuzuru is shot in the leg and falls extremely ill after failing to find food and water for about a week. she rides her horse aimlessly forward in hopes of finding food or people to help her. she sees tsurus farm in the distance, extremely close to death, and bets her life on getting to that farm as fast as she possibly can. she gets to the farm, but passes out and falls off her horse. tsuru is chilling on the porch of her little house reading the bible, and she sees yuzuru, drops what she was doing and rushes to help.
tsuru feeds her and nurses her back to health, and says she can stay at the farm if she needs to, as long as she helps. yuzuru stays for a while, but tells tsuru that she may need to leave at some point, as shes still on the run.
yuzuru is extremely grateful, as she would have died if it werent for tsuru taking the time to care for her and give her a place to stay. as expected from me, they start to catch feelings for eachother.
internally, tsuru is conflicted about her own feelings as her priest tells her it is a sin to feel this way about another woman. yuzuru feels the same conflict, but its moreso just being unable to do certain things like marry her with a priest's blessing.
eventually, tsuru gets sick and tired of fighting with herself and decides that, if the priest was telling the truth, she'd rather spend eternity tortured in hell with yuzuru by her side than get to some heaven where her love is forbidden.
things happen. yuzuru decides she doesnt want to leave the farm. happy.
thats the bare bones of it, ofc its just an au so certain things arent concrete.
