after touching heavypaint again i decided to see if i could recreate its gradient lasso tool in krita. the answer is not really, but i did get a pretty neat effect by just changing the opacity of the regular lasso fill. this was done entirely using lasso fill (except for the cleanup around the edges)

i don't know if this is necessarily going to serve the same purpose as the lasso fill in heavypaint, but it is interesting

it's done! i'm very pleased to have had a silly idea and actually made it happen 😌 painting done with acrylic; the plush were stitched together, then onto the canvas itself. I'll be adding a bit of backing later to make sure they're extra stable ^^
