- Music: Music has been my longest special interest. I listen to a TON of music to the degree it's hard to talk about generally, however my favorite band is English prog-pop band Cardiacs and there's more stuff on my music taste on RYM tho i haven't updated it in a while. https://rateyourmusic.com/~gazoinks
- Visual art: I have, perhaps unsurprisingly, a strong predilection for the surrealists and dadaists. Love me some Remedios Varo, Leonara Carrington, Max Ernst, Man Ray, Breton, etc.
- Fiction: I have a lot of affection for the Massive Experimental Novel - Gravity's Rainbow and Dhalgren were big for me. I also generally like fiction that plays with its nature as fiction and with its structure, hence my love of the Oulipo who worked in various constrained writing modes. I'm a big fan of folklore and fairy tales as well and a lot of my love for Calvino's Cosmicomics is the way it welds together folklore and playful Oulipo-style structural mathematical stuff.
- Poetry: I like REALLY abstract poetry, quietly emotional poetry, and poetry that does interesting things with language. I love visual poetry. See for instance Natalie Shapero, George Abraham, Karin Boye, Anthony Cody, @wires, William Blake, Matthew Olzmann, David Melnick, and of course my wonderful wife @bigstuffedcat who was just recently published in Beestung.
- Games: I like games that are about exploring the tactileness of the game space. This can take multiple forms - puzzle games, very in-depth sim games like Dwarf Fortress, weird enigmatic games like PAGAN and Moonring - but they're all unified by the primary loop being about learning how the world works and how to interact with it.
- Paper puzzles: Cryptic crosswords rule. I really like figure out the rules games like @letibus' work. I like shadey-region games, minesweeper-ish games, and pathing/loop games but don't like it if the rules have too many cases.
You can probably combine this post with my answer to Julia's question to basically triangulate my complete philosophical paradigm.
