TIPS, the main character of System Failure, is originally a completely competent (yet unfeeling) AI, one of many mass-produced by Dyson Dynamics. Tasked with protecting and commanding the criminals and runaways Dyson Dynamics hired for precursor salvage runs, TIPS comes into contact with Artifact Zero during a mission to the Gemini Station. The artifact attacks them, and they shut down.
Reawakening, they find themself having been transported into the Gemini Station as it's controlling AI- unfortunately, the station has been decaying and malfunctioning for eons, and worsening matters, TIPS seems to be capable of independent thought and emotions. TIPS quickly becomes the complete opposite of how they started; confused, emotional, and incapable of the most basic tasks.
