Rasmus Derring's Derringer Ring is a simple self-defense weapon hidden as a ring, worn on the index finger. When focused on with the hand in the right shape, it summons a hard-light construct of small size, able to shoot an energy projectile of adequate stopping power.

I thought this was a lot cooler at the time if I'm honest.
