i was looking at the names of different kinds of mushrooms and learned about "Slippery Jack" and "Velvet Shank." i decided they sounded like a duo of criminals

then it was suggested to me that they should be toads of mushroom kingdom

I can't really put my finger on why but it makes me go "??????" in a way water color does not.
