You may or may not recognize the character above, but he is a main character (villain) for the upcoming comic we've been working away at... (That took a long hiatus from working on ayEEE)
Yes, his name is Stranger.
Stranger has been around, and has gone through multiple changes/adjustments for our story. Our main concern had been positioning and providing enough context for a character like him, that otherwise could potentially cause controversy or upset with the public. As we wanted to retain what he's meant to be, and keep him authentic to this role and disposition as well; He is a criminal through and through, that commits diabolical acts. He is very much a monster.
Where I'm leading with this, is a lot of prefacing and cautious steps forward. We will present things that uphold a level of respectful maturity and that we will clearly disclaim - we do not, under any circumstance, endorse the mindset or activities of this character.
Regardless of how he is presented, we also do not condone the ideology of 'cancelling' or ruining the reputations of an artist for their fictional representation of these types of characters. Be they gross and foul or heinous... It is not to be confused as a reflection upon the artists/creators beliefs. Any accusation or implication of this upon us as creators is abolished. To state it again more clearly, I do not enjoy real-world suffering of crimes, and nor would we ever want or encourage such a thing as acceptable.
Context is gravely important in any case of any person, and whom is deserving of that type of public shame and condemnation, reserved for those people that do and willingly want/encourage the harm or evil acts onto others.
What is drawn and represented in the realm of a fictitious creation is merely that - a story. Whatever you personally come out of it with, as the reader, is personal and individual to you.
