i really liked this site, you know. this was essentially the one social media platform aside from youtube and discord i actually used frequently and didn't abandon.
it's been a while since i've posted and i'm well aware of that, but i still at least checked in a lot.
there's a reason i decided to move to cohost; because i couldn't find a better alternative to twitter. well, admittedly that was like 5% of the reason, it was more because some of my favorite artists were moving here. i'm sure that's where quite a few people came from as well. hell i even found out i was trans while i was still active on this site, that's how long i've been here for.
i couldn't move to bluesky because invites weren't open, i decided against mastodon because it just looked like cohost again.. and now that i have to move shop again, i have to consider something. i've tried making a new twitter account, but the elongated muskrat wasn't exactly being nice to me that day and i couldn't actually register.
it's kinda sad, saying goodbye to something that stuck with me for so long, something that i adored. i'm not sure where i'd be without this site.
and then at the same time, it's kinda weird. i've never had to do this to anything that's had this much impact before.
i guess it's time to say goodbye soon. the shutdown's less than three weeks from now. so here goes

thank you for everything, @staff. you've made something where i cherish the fact i was a part of it. thank you to everyone who has been a part of this site as a user, a lurker, or whatever. it's been an honor seeing you around. i wouldn't trade my experiences on this site for anything.
