For a bit of information on him, he's a triton (mermaid species in my story OOE), and he's been the ruler of his kingdom ever since his parent died. He used to be very interested and curious about humans, even with the 100 year old war both species had. The interest turned into hatred because of his loss, and he became dead set on getting his revenge.
He had to grow too fast to step up to a position he wasn't ready for. He's a lot more serious afterwards, besides when indulging on his dye making interests
