In a positive end to a kinda rough day, I have finished the first chapter of what will be my next major solo project, something creative and weird and while not directly queer, it's very trans and therian/xenothrope coded.

Working title is Reborn as an Eldritch Eye/Eldritch Eye Apocalypse. Earth and multiple other worlds gets a system of magic imposed on it. Adrian survived just long enough to select the Rebirth ability, and was reborn as a floating eye. After spending the first year of the apocalypse casting a single spell in a basement over and over again, Adrian is now free to spread his influence, create an army of mutants, and create a safe haven for those cast out of this new world - and help them get their revenge on those who wronged them while he turns his wrath on the alien colonizers that killed billions.

Shouldn't have any major trigger warnings other than violence and profanity, although the central concept should get a trigger warning for "Character forcibly disembodied" and "General large scale death because of apocalypse," although also the book will heavily play with themes of feeling alienated and othered.
