The Novamari Kachow is a V10-powered monster I built in Automation and entered into a build-and-race competition. The goal is to build a sportscar according to the series' regulations, then submit the car for a balance of performance adjustment to equalize all the cars against each other. Then everybody receives their cars, and are tasked with racing in time trials that last a week apiece on BeamNG.drive.
Last week was at Laguna Seca. The first lap in this competition's format is off the starting line, but that first lap still counts since the submitted time is both your outlap and your flying lap. My outlap was second-slowest out of all submitted times, but this car's strength is its on track performance; it easily secured the fastest flying lap!
The total lap time put me in 3rd for the week, which i'm thoroughly floored by. This is the first time i've entered a build-and-race competition like this, so i'm very happy with my results. I'm gonna take what I've learned about the car into this week at VIR, and try to improve the acceleration off the line with careful throttle application. Hopefully we'll take the win this week!
