A spritesheet of several faces of sophie and anna from Bossgame. white pixels on black background. They show emotions from happiness, sadness, embarrassment, shock, rage, and bliss

the many faces of bossgame. i'm really happy with these; i tried to include lots of little differences in details and personality in there: sophie's round face compared to anna's long face, the way they hold their mouths... it was fun trying to make each character distinct in 48x48

i highly recommend making a wide variety of different expressions! if nothing else, you can make a character look more active & heighten their emotion by bouncing between slightly different expressions... even for my super lofi game i ended up with over a dozen for each character, haha

bossgame fun fact: i made the blushing sprites in the last month or so before release, as i was tweaking the final scene and needed a particularly powerful mood... i liked them so much i went back through every dialogue and peppered them in. this is why games take forever. it was worth it!

hey there! i just beat BOSSGAME tonight, just wanted to say it was such a charming, fun, and funny game!! you did such an amazing job with it. numerous times i was astounded by your creativity from different attack patterns to ways the dialogue boxes change and overall style and writing. such a delight!!!!! (pretty tough, but never got too frustrating for me!!)

thank you so much ;_; i am really happy you had fun with it!!

i love complex boss attacks and that feeling of studying and mastering a pattern, so i was excited going in that Bossgame would just let me go wild on those..! the dialogue boxes were very fun too... they started as just a small extra i made on a whim while taking a break from harder stuff but it's funny how little touches like that can add so much!
