a section of the "known bugs" patch notes for a recent release candidate patch of star citizen that reads:
Location - Daymar / Whistler Crypt/ Physic - Walking on hills near Whistler's Crypt can potentially kill or wound the player
it's been a meme for so long that walking can get you killed in star citizen that i've completely adjusted how i move in the game.
- i do not step off of stairs until i am at a landing
- i approach all slopes with respect
- i stow any items before attempting to climb a ledge
- when i call an elevator i immediately withdraw to a safe distance
- i lay down when in another player's ship and we are flying
- if something starts vibrating i give it distance
- and many more subconscious behaviors
anyways it's one of my favorite games of all time and you should not play it.
below the break for a funny story of what i did last night
i took an illegal mission to take down a comm array, didn't have a hacking tool, went to the pirate base to get one, dodged players by flying around asteroids for cover, got my hacking tool, left the base, dodged pirates who i'd been ragging on in chat, got to the array, got blown up by turrets because my eject bugged, went to prison, prison missions were bugged so i waited for my sentence to finish, left prison, spawned outside of the bed but inside the space station geometry (luckily i was in a suit), got out of the space station geometry and into space, sent out a transport request beacon, spent the time waiting by flashing my flashlight through a window at someone in the station, got saved by a person in a medical ship, got stuck trying to enter via their hatch so i had to go in via the ramp, got into the station, said hi to the player i had been flashing my lights at in proximity voip, got my ship, flew back to the comm array (this time got in the turrets' blind spot properly), started the hack, finished the hack, had to keep it offline for 5mins so i hid myself in the darkside of the comms array structure, blew up a player that came to turn back the comm array on with a railgun (also because there is a bug that makes ADS for every gun act like a pistol the ads for the railgun was inside the barrel), announced in chat the planet comm array was down to brew chaos, left the comm array, came back to the station to land, dodged player pirates (bc the comm array is down you dont get crime stats so it gets lawless), got to my landing bay, was very close to finishing when yuki (my cat) jumped on me, i nosed down hard and accelerated, smashed into the hanger floor, and blew up. 10/10 would citizen again
