conversation with my therapist in which I didn't think that "snowing cats and dogs" works as well as raining, and I spuriously came up with "snowing lizards and snakes." She raised the question of what you do for freezing rain or sleet, and I immediately came up with ferrets, since ferrets are cats who are also snakes.
