:ooooo

mayhaps....... tell me about your story ? :3

like, do the characters have names for months? do they trade with other groups? its a warrior cats like thing right? sorry i saw you once on tumblr lol-

Glad to hear my minor fame stretches over here too lol ✨

While Ailurocide definitely started as a Warrior Cats rewrite aiming to fix a lot of the messiness in a way that I, personally, found pleasing (then with the name "Old Faces New Dawn"), it has since rapidly spiraled out of my control and into its own, proud tale with entirely new lore and characters. To prevent myself from rambling too much about it and testing just how far I can push Cohost's character limit:

Ailurocide follows a young cat-bird hybrid named Lyre who manages to escape a toxic, controlling environment and slip into one that allows him to grow and thrive -- until it's discovered that Lyre alone holds a type of magic that holds the potential to save not only his new home, but the entire world from the quiet wrath of a half-asleep god and her followers who are hellbent on "starting over" again from scratch with her holding the most power over her few fellow remaining, dormant gods. The journey to stop these plots is long and treacherous, but Lyre is joined by a pawful of friends (and foes) from varying places to help along the way.
Ailurocide is a xenofiction set in the wake of humanity's downfall via nuclear war, which led to radiation interfering with the genetics of all that remained, so now every animal that exists is now a hybrid of some sort, with animals being made up of three or more parts behaving like animals as we know them, and hybrids sporting just a pair of parts behaving with human-level intelligence. Some of the primary themes I'm trying to primarily portray within the story are the cycle of abuse, power and corruption, dismantling abusive systems, hope, change and progress, growing up with heavy expectations, and healing with the support of found family and friends. There's also casual queer and disabled representation, artwork to introduce characters, locations, and other important elements, and tons of interpersonal, religious, and political drama.

To borrow my blurb directly from my main storytelling media, over on tumblr:
Wrongfully accused of a haunting crime and forced to flee the only home he had ever known, Lyre finds himself at the very heart of the “monsters” who haunted his cubhood horror stories… just for the occupants of the Vibrant Vale to prove themselves far kinder than anyone he had encountered before – and far more desperate as well, with their world revealing itself to be equipped with far more danger, intrigue, magic, and death than Lyre had ever known… All of which then entrusted to him to mend in the wake of great turmoil, based on words of the deified dead long past. Begged to leave once more, this time to chase more nursery tales while equipped with new goals, new knowledge, and new companions, Lyre steels himself with a promise to both himself and those now depending on him to find a way to fix what he had never broken… But such promises weigh heavy on young shoulders, especially as secrets unveiled grow increasingly grander, until a betrayal-torn and duty-battered Lyre finally must ask himself: Save his friends, or save the world?

While I have the entirety of the plot laid out, nothing is fleshed out just yet, and some small details like the specifics of the hybrid creatures or the number of background characters in a crowd are still up in the air. But I do plan to begin sharing things soon, especially character designs, relationships, basic world-building, a proper map of the locations that will be visited within the story, and other pre-story elements to truly help immerse those who have stuck with me and have shown loyal excitement for this project while I try to piece together the small things to then move onto proper writing.

If you'd like to keep up with the story as it unfolds properly, and as your specific questions are answered, I do implore you to keep an eye on the Tumblr! My inbox is open to everyone, even those without accounts I believe, so questions and intrigue are always welcome!! <3
