loosely inspired by sam smith’s 2009 poster for a screening of nobuhiko obayashi’s House.

i exercised enormous restraint here, and resisted the urge blend my colors and rely on shading to describe form, instead emphasizing line. i recognize that by working digitally (mostly out of convenience) i undermine my capacity to build confidence and spontaneity in my linework so i am trying to push back against my bad habits a bit. (really i need to take some life drawing courses.)
