My cat is somewhat physically affectionate, but only occasionally. For example: she very rarely ever slept on my lap and the only reccuring rubbing against my legs are when I'm not prepping her food fast enough.
Yet, tonight seems to be an exception; it's 2 am and for the first time since we started living together, we played catch with each others! We've been running around the apartment in the same pattern, waiting for the other at every corners, and bolting off as soon as one of us catched up.
It was so fun, I feel like I got to discover a part of her and deepen our bound. It helped me forget about my struggle for a moment too.
I'm not exactly sure why, but running with her constitute one of those very rare moments where I felt a bit more free from disphoria. Those kinds of games are things I didn't get to do enough as a child and being able to act like one with her tonight, I think healed something within me. I hope we'll get to play together again!

One of the new prints I'll have available at Furnal Equinox 2024!
I guess some cats DO like water! Orito and Minette went snorkelling and made a funny-looking friend!
