I got a new cat! She's a very scaredy and shy, but allegedly ultimately friendly, cat, Jane "Fondue". She's "Fondue" because the shelter already had a cat named Jane and Fondue was given as an identifying nickname. However, I prefer "Fondue" over "Jane" so I'll go with that.
Jane has asthma and luxating patellas (i.e. kneecap issues); the kneecaps were operated on already and apart from some small issues with her left hindleg, it'd seem that she'll be fine with regards to them. The asthma will require medication every other day.
I'm going to be recording a daily(?) video of her progress in getting accustomed to me, the house, and my other cat, Vilma. We'll see how that goes.
