He's started sleeping like this because it's warm in the afternoon and I just can't
I believe I've managed to "decode" some of his behavior finally (after, what, like 8 years of living with him?? lol).
See, lately he's been visiting me in my bedroom in the evenings and vocalizing lightly and basically doing various "notice me" gambits (including clawing my sofa, which is...no, please).
but it turns out he's not doing it for treats (the usual guess) or petting, which he's never really asked for anyway. (He doesn't like physical attention normally, and unless he's feeling super safe he basically bites and scratches anyone that tries to pet him below the neck)
Anyway, i realized he comes up to visit me to get me to go to sleep. He vocalizes and tries to draw me away from computer and lie down on the bed, after which he makes sure the doors are open a crack so he can go out and start patrolling at around 3-5am, then goes to the bed and lies down as well.
cute. i kinda wish he'd do this after 930 though, i can't go to sleep at checks time 7pm.
