Went to visit my parents at their new house so we haven't seen the cats all day. Hope they slept and were good kitties. At least the window is always a good cat tv.

You've already met Taro and Boba before in this post here!
But Taro's owner lives all the way down in Hamilton so--
This was the 1.5 hour drive down. The roads are slightly wonky.
Here's their idyllic home. They built the planter boxes all by themselves, next to a lemon tree they're begging everyone to pick before their garden is overwhelmed with rotting fruit.
We were forced to take away some in their lululemon bag.
Boba always lifts one of her legs when you carry her in your arms. And here she is trying to eat grass. I've never seen her dart or pounce; she just takes life at her own slow pace and goes underneath the TV cabinet to chill out.
Taro is the complete opposite. She's hyper ALWAYS.
My contribution was to make everyone the famous New York Levain cookies; the flour was parbaked to remove the raw flour taste because of how underbaked the cookies are meant to be. Walnut, dark 60% chocolate, and brown sugar.
We got served coffee in their handmade butt mugs. There's boob mugs if you prefer that instead.
"I have no idea what I'm doing, this is my first time!" they said.
The lamb roast turned out excellent.
We tried Stardew Valley the board game for the rest of the night. I've actually never played Stardew Valley before, and the game relies on a lot of nostalgia and knowledge for you to pick things up. My problem with it is that the game is highly prone to quarterbacking (i.e. someone else telling you what to do on your turn) due to its cooperative nature. And because of how RNG-heavy the game is, you're never really sure what's going to happen on your turn. Most of the time, you'll attempt to plan with your teammates, go to a place, and then just roll dice and see what you get. And the game can and WILL screw you over with some flips of the card, and it's frustrating enough that most people will choose to pretend it didn't happen. I found this sentiment repeated often in the online review of this game.
When we played, there was a lot of cheating in this game. π In fact, my friend said they pretty much just cheat during the setup. Good lord.
All in all, I had a really great day. Much needed, I think, given that I've been fainting from stress for the past week.
he loves sleeping on my shoulder π₯°
