oh interesting, i thought that the scots "braw" must have been a loanword from gaelic and be cognate with the irish "breá" and welsh "braf", but "bra" is a word in swedish that means the same/similar so i guess it's not from gaelic/a celtic root?? i will have to investigate further.
ooh the swedish comes from low german "brav" which comes from french "brave" which comes from italian "bravo". the welsh "braf" also comes from the french (i assume from the norman invasion??).

i found this irish dictionary from the 50s/60s written in cló gaelach and i'm reslly happy ^_^ we should make cló gaelach more widely used again
