On July 4th, the USA Independence day, I changed my profile pic on most of my social media presence to be the American flag on Fire. I started this years ago in protest to America's treatment of people coming to the country seeking asylum. Which is still perfectly legal.

I generally do this now each year as a more generally protest against the USA. I am an American citizen. But I am also an Anarchist. I believe in nations, or nation states, states in generally. And I certainly don't believe in borders. Borders are violence.

But I have a lot of criticism of the USA government. And I believe many of my issues stems from the "birth" of the country. This is a country built on stolen land off backs of enslave people from Africa.

The "Founding Fathers" were Rich White Men that own slaves, hated democracy, and wanted to continue to expand westward past the Appalachian Mountains but couldn't as "British Colonies" because the British Crown had treaties with the Indigenous folks there.

But the USA, a newly form country has no such treaties. Not the USA honor any of their treaties with the Indigenous people after they became the USA. Many Many Indigenous tribes are still actively fighting the USA government to honor said.

And some of those treaties were illegally signed anyway. Or signed under false pretends.

I mean Colin Kaepernick kneel during the National Anthem as a sign of protest against police brutality against black folks. I totally agree with that protest too.

I think I want to make it perfectly clear, despite being born in the USA, I am Anti-American. And I side-eye anyone that is a "Proud American." Even the Progressive Liberal types that are Proud Americans, despite the flaw in this country.
