Yesterday I spent all day storyboarding the first issue of SPITE (Amarulence) because I was curious to see actually how many pages it was going to be after splitting up previous pages for better flow. It's 43 pages now, baring any major changes, or twice as long as it was going to be originally. Somehow, though, having it storyboarded seems to make the inking/linework process a little faster. I was able to do two pages today and I feel a sense of relief having a better idea of page length.

I really suck at scripting, I guess shrug Well, maybe it's not just that. I don't account for panels that are just reactions to what characters say, so while the script has just talking points, there could be a line that warrants a few panels of reactions and that eats up real estate. Sometimes I make note of these reactions, but if I really want it to hit home, I might add more panels. Expressions are some of my favorite things to draw and I spend a lot of time getting them right. But still, this first issue is gonna be twice as long at this rate :V
