made a program to moderate all the comic chat avatars I have so I can make a bot without fear of it posting something grotesque.
I'll see you all in another year when I finish going through 177,000+ poses

this matches his track record tbh - of course this would bother him;
The fact that Blueksy has some form of content moderation and has occasionally banned users for things like using racial slurs in their usernames.
Kevin Roose writes in today's NYT about how content moderation made Reddit what it is today - a successful IPO "Today, Reddit is a gem of the internet, and a trusted source of news and entertainment for millions of people. It's one of the last big platforms that feel unmistakably human โ messy and rough around the edges, sure, but a place where real people gather to talk about real things, unmediated by algorithms and largely free of mindless engagement bait. "
No, really. Just ignore the porn, and everything is great. Really.
Bluesky's automod is telling me this is pornography despite there being a classification for non-sexual nudity.
I know people don't like ascribing human-like qualities to statistical pachinko machines, but it's still kinda funny in a sad way how these tools hold a mirror up to ourselves. We can't even all agree what pornography even is, and these tools are going to cater to the most sensitive and prudish among us. Even a female-presenting nipple is too far, and I hated writing that clause. All the language we juggle to define which tits are naughty or just fine feels more and more absurd as time goes on, and I'd say humanity is losing its goddamned mind, but really it's America, and a small subset of America that tagged the above art as porn, albeit indirectly.
