Cuckoo was a lot of fun and I want to see Hunter Schafer in a lot more horror roles. She's perfect for them.

i’ve seen no hype for Cuckoo at all but let me fix that: good movie. long as hell, slow as fuck, but manages to mostly stick the weird landing. incredible sound design.

a trans horror novel about queer kids trying to survive together after being forced into a nightmare conversion camp by parents who deep-down wish they would be replaced by someone more lovable wearing their skin. warnings for severe transphobia/homophobia and child abuse of course, it's a painful one; if you want to read a story like it though i strongly recomnend it. the kids are pained and messy and hurt each other as they try to support themselves and each other and it speaks true to things ive struggled to put words to. heartwrenching book of queer truth and connection and love blooming even in the deepest reaches of hell. also strongly recommend manhunt by the same author if you dont mind terf death squads
