ok after letting this sit for longer the flavors melded more and honestly? pretty good! probably still would be better served with syrup tho for a less subtle and nuanced dr pepper vibe!
( also taking little tiny bites makes it more obvious which is like probably for the best 'cause i normally just inhale these things lmao )
tastes ... ok! if i do this again definitely gotta fold whipped cream into the filling to make it lighter and use thinner crême layers and ... mooore flavorful iunno if i will do this with dr pepper and coconut milk again it was mostly for the bit but at least! i did a thing! moderately successfully!
we are now looking into diet dr pepper syrup and it turns out dr pepper is still an independent brand and you can as far as i can tell pretty much only get the syrup in 5 gallon soda machine box bags so it's gonna be an adventure lmao

have soooooome lessons learned for next time — if there's a next time — mostly having to do with i fucked up the puff pastry a little bit and also have not piped icing in like a decade and that didn't go super great and also if i try to do dr pepper icing again i'm gonna try to get dr pepper syrup so it is more flavorful and also a less troubling color
