finally got out of my funk of the last couple weeks!
i always have difficulty transitioning from a period of high-stress deadline-laden busi-ness to the normal, not-quite-as-urgent sort of busy, where you have plenty to do but the world won't end if you don't start it today. sometimes i can use my momentum from the urgent tasks to jump right into the regular tasks and the adjustment isn't too bad, but this time my nearly-half-a-year of urgent business ended in my wedding and my week-long honeymoon! It was a much-needed vacation, but I got home and kinda just kept vacationing for two more weeks.
But no more! I finally made a plan for organizing the house a day or two ago, and today I started tackling the first step, the living room. There's a lot to do but now that I've started I know I can get it done sooner or later! Seeing any progress at all is such a relief.
I'm also looking at job options again - the stability and benefits of an office job would just be so nice. So I updated my resume yesterday and will likely apply to a couple admin jobs this week. Since I was planning to mostly spend the next month-ish organizing my house and growing my small business, this is a perfect time to just apply to places, and if something good happens to pop up, I can jump on it, but if not, oh well.
I'm definitely going to be more picky than I was last time I searched for office jobs!! My six month office job from two years ago was absolute hell. It was good experience for my resume though, so hopefully I'll land more interviews this time. And this time I have an idea of how to spot at least some red flags beforehand, and the confidence to leave sooner if I do accidentally pick somewhere horrible.
