My tooth was feeling weird today. It was kind of tingly. If I poked at it, I felt it in my cheek. I was able to use a hand mirror and the bathroom mirror to see these grey lines on the tooth. It felt better when heated up but it still feels off. I'm going to have to miss my Avatar game Saturday to see the dentist. My family has a bad history with root canals and other dental issues. Up to this point, I never had an issue, but I'm afraid I have a dead tooth. That's when blood flood to a tooth gets cut off and it slowly dies. That means a root canal. And I'd really prefer not to go through that.

There's a bunch of things you're supposed to do for dental care that they don't tell you until you're two crowns into dental work (apparently??)??

Anyone ever tell you you're supposed to hold your toothbrush at a 45° angle so the bristles get under the gums??

How about holding your water pick perpendicular to your teeth so the water does a weird splashing action under the gums?

How about if you use floss you gotta go on both sides of the ^/v bit of gum between the teeth, don't go straight down!! And also!! Scrape your teeth with it while you're flossing to remove plaque buildup!

Sure would have been nice if anyone told me that before my 30s when I could have maybe saved my teeth!!

Bonus: if you're on HRT you might be doomed to perpetually inflamed gums
