This is an illustration of a scene that ended up cut from Exciting New Levels of Heresy, but I kept in the story anyway because this is definitely the vibe of the dynamic. Also Mara looks cute here.
This illustration is also what got me to think about how Ayla is low-key Nic and Mara's third in this story, we just didn't get there because of all the god stuff.
