Friday the 13th happened in January this year, which means it will happen again in October1. I planned on having some friends over, under the guise of doing our normal roleplay game, on this last friday the 13th. Actually though I was going to spring a one-shot on them, one that I made called "Bad Luck in the Bayou" which is a horror story about a group of investigators finding themselves stranded at a Louisiana plantation estate trying to escape a monster in the early 1930's. But, I got sick. Specifically my throat was really bad and I could barely talk for about 4 days, which would make running a group ill-advised for a number of reasons. The extra time is giving me the opportunity to polish the scenario, something it sorely needed because I started working on it less than a week before we were supposed to play it so the stitching was still very visible. Now I have till October.
I've been thinking about making it a tradition, that every Friday the 13th I meet with a group and run them through a horror one-shot, then they have to select their successors for the next Friday the 13th. Fun stuff.
1 Leap years throw this off, but whatever.
