thinking about the old kevin j anderson jedi books and how it used to be that synthetic lightsaber crystals were red and natural ones were all kinds of colors and that that was actually kind of a decent system. and they weren't all kyber crystals. but also the visions s1 thing where they changed color based on where the force-wielder was drawing their power was also Extremely Cool.
