Endacopia is an upcoming surreal point-and-click created by neato animation youtuber Andy Land. he posted a promotional video about it along with a link to a Kickstarter and a free demo.
the demo's only about 20 or so minutes long, but i really liked what i saw of it. a quote on the itch page states that it feels like 'Petscop meets Pajama Sam', which i feel is a very apt comparison. you play a young boy(?) that has woken up in an unfamiliar place, that morphs and changes every so often to the point where rooms will just have weird shit in them all the time and i love it. it manages to be completely incomprehensible while having an art style that's vaguely reminiscent of an old JumpStart game. (it even has random things you can click on that will just play a short animation and sound clip and do nothing else, just like old Humongous games!)
the characters are... weird, but charming, and the mechanics seem fascinating. oh yeah and this game has bossfights in it too. how andy managed to do that in an engine tailored for point-and-clicks i have no idea, but i fucking love the variety nonetheless.
i've already backed the kickstarter and here's hoping for a non-bumpy release in... 2024! probably! here's hoping!! more weird point and clicks please!!
