AuRaugust 2023 - Day 9 - Danger

It all went by so fast after her mind went white with that searing burn that made her tumble to the ground. The grip of adrenaline addled her body in that moment, dulling everything that ached and throbbed from the heat of conflict. Her vision burred, and the last thing she saw was a blade being brought up to finish her off.

Did it come down? Was it over? Had she been...killed?

Her head may as well have been filled with cotton and gas with how lightheaded she felt. Her eyes fluttered open briefly. She felt cold steel bleeding through her garments. When she turned her bleary gaze upward, she was too tired to be surprised by who she saw.

"Es...Estinien...?" she softly croaked.

"Quiet." His voice was gentle. Far gentler than she had often been used to. What she remembered.

"I need to...to..." she struggled, her voice pained. Even talking hurt. "I need to...fight. Need to...save everyone..."

"Not in your condition."
