“Satora, my guiding star, I fear there is something I must tell you. Another secret I have kept from you.”
The Keeper’s head perked up from her lover’s chest. It had been such an enjoyable and relaxed night too. A mere moon had passed since she had rescued G’raha Tia from the depths of the Tempest and she had spent every possible moment trying to reconnect with him.
Half a decade had passed since that fateful day when G’raha sealed himself away in the Crystal Tower. Half a decade for Satora, at least. Decidedly more time had passed for her counterpart with his trip to the future, then back again to the distant past.
“First of all, Raha, please stop with the titles. I missed you too, but you don’t need to layer it on so thick,” she chastised. After an acknowledging nod, she continued, “Secondly, I thought we agreed no more secrets. I appreciate you telling me now rather than never, but it’s been a moon. Why wait so long? Should I be concerned?” Her voice was starting to escalate in pitch as a slight anxiety set in.
Her red-headed companion was quick to intervene, moving in front of Satora on the bed and sitting on his knees, grasping her hands firmly. “Oh, no, no, no! It’s nothing bad, I assure you. I simply… was not sure the right way to tell you. It’s not really something one can prepare for, especially given our unusual circumstances.” Raha’s own nervousness was becoming increasingly apparent. His left hand withdrew to his upper thigh and his tail twitched and swished.
“O… kay… I trust you, Raha. What is it you need to tell me?”
A beat passed, and then another. Raha took a deep breath in, held, and released.
“Alright. I am ready. Satora Lhansi, my love… when I entered Syrcus Tower, I was unaware that our actions together had given us a gift. Had I known, I would never have taken the initiative to seal myself away without first talking to you. I may not have even considered it in the first place.” Satora’s ears flicked as she tilted her head in confusion. “Satora Lhansi, Warrior of Light and Darkness… many years ago for me, I gave birth to your children. By this point, you have grandchildren and great grandchildren. I would like to introduce you to them if you are willing.”
“WHAT?!”
