you may have heard week 1 raiders & streamer personalities yap about how this fight is too easy, the dps check is a joke. now i'm not saying they're entirely wrong, but i would caution against being TOO confident as you go into PF. we killed the boss halfway through soft enrage after a clean run mechanics-wise, and that was after 10 wipes with that party

but did i have fun? mostly! it's a cool fight and satisfying to execute! but the more i wiped, the more it started to remind me of tree from abyssos, where the real hurdles are all at the tail end of the fight. so in order to practice parsing the initially overwhelming mechanics, you need to go through 7/9 minutes of increasingly dull stuff each time. even more frustrating when your party keeps dying to a Certain Meme Mechanic when all you want to do is see more of phase 2.

so there was some yearning for the door bosses of yore. but i'm happy to have cleared it and the tier so early! here's hoping that the reclears go smoothly.
