bro the difference between vanilla and upscaled textures surely there's gotta be a middle ground between being able to count the texture's pixels and a 25Gb mod

I'm working on the Level 96 Healer role quest but keep getting this message every time I try to Esuna this last bather. Anyone know what could be going on?

Thanks to @GraceHorizon for the info on the workaround, ended up having to abandon the quest and redid it while taking care of the bathers in a different order. Got a bit worried when an NPC who walked away in a cutscene was still around once the cutscene ended, but everything worked out okay!
