I’m leaning on my Botanist retainer for materials for crafting collectables, and it’s striking how much more effective retainers are for previous expansions’ gathering. I’m making Rarefied Tacos de Carne Asada, and I can get 20 White Pepper or Yyasulani Garlic in an hour … or 50 Dark Rye in 50 minutes. It definitely beats gathering all that stuff myself, and I might just keep that retainer permanently on Dark Rye until I’ve got all the crafting materia I want to prepare for the next patch.
