ffxiv might be a mid game for most of its length but i've gotta be honest. having played a lot of single-player CRPGs, ffxiv at its most average has better gameplay and storytelling than almost all of them. getting two hours into a game that people talk a lot about and then going "huh. this is worse in every way than the free version of that MMO" is a repeated experience
