This is Drachma. She was abandoned in a cardboard box, covered in fleas, next to the cat shelter's dumpster. They think she was probably a breeder for a mill, as they've been getting other, usually purebred cats dropped off that way, including a pair of Scottish fold kittens with eye infections recently. Drachma seems to be a five year old mix of Siamese and Ragdoll, and now that she's finally stopped hiding under the couch all day, she's shown herself to be extremely friendly and affectionate.

If you're thinking about getting a cat, check out your local shelter. You'll probably find plenty of sweeties like Drachma who could really use some comfort after being dealt a bad hand in life.
