Does anyone know of any entry level job postings that involve mushroom farming or bamboo farming or hemp farming or salvage diving or saturation diving or oyster farming or cleaning up plastic or other pollutants or
I'm used to being in situations where I'm living and sleeping in my car but I'd prefer to live near a place that doesn't have neighborhood dogs constantly barking. A job isn't just a job to me, and I'm tired of situations where I'm working alongside people who are hostile to people like me's existence. I have my Blender projects which could sustain myself financially, but that is just a theory that has yet to be actualized, so I can't really sustain myself through it currently. I'm getting out of shape so I want to do physical work in the meanwhile, and maybe in doing so, prepare for the future. Hence the agricultural or diving related mentions. I did a couple years scuba diving to search for treasure from a shipwreck of a Spanish Galleon from the 1600's, so I have that experience, but I've been out of work since the pandemic started because from it's start to this day, I still wear a mask everywhere I go and take the pandemic seriously, and my social anxiety and distrust in the people around me disregarding or dismissing the pandemic has made me extremely hesitant to enter a situation wherein such people would be sharing my space as my coworkers. My last job had me living on the boat (which was both a perk because yay free housing, and a curse, because of the personalities and nature of my crewmates. For some reason, the commercial diving industry, at least for the most part in my experience, tends to attract a lot of bigots and overall toxic people. Having that as a prospect has mentally hampered me in my job search efforts. I'm basically anarcho-communist furry trash, but who says society's trash can't be a treasure when it's not being forced into a toxic social environment? I don't just want a job, I want to do work towards a better future in a healthy environment. I am interested in working with cultivating mushrooms because I think it will provide me with a valuable experience, and lead to a useful source of nutrition for the Rent-free community I want to develop. I think bamboo will be a useful tool and resource for crafting, and experience in cultivating it seems like it would be useful. Hemp can be used as a construction material, oysters can be used for water filtration and additional nutrition. These are things I don't have prior experience to, but I have a personal interest in, and would like to do work to develop experience in. The Ocean has a lot of plastic garbage, and not only is removing it from the ocean the right thing to do to prevent them from breaking down into microplastics and entering our food and water supplies, but we can repurpose the plastic that is recovered one way or another, whether it's from doing something like making a boat out of plastic bottles, to using newly discovered bacteria, fungi or whatever to break it down and turn it into a usable form.
I'm not interested in a job for money, so I'm not willing to enter another toxic company. I just want to do fulfilling work. I don't want to stagnate, I want to become a better me, and do work towards a better future for the future me. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find coworkers with similar thoughts and interests, and develop actual healthy work and personal relationships with them, something that has been noticeably absent in my life so far. I'm looking at this post and noticing how unappealing it might sound to an employer, but honestly that's fine. I'm not looking for employment, I'm looking for work.
