Thought i share a fun cute little doodle of one of my OC, Sierra here named after the point and click adventure game company cause i like point and clicks, here is a cute little pupper going on a nice little shopping spree and using all she got to have the best time.
really need to draw more of my OC as i really want to exapand and give each of em more personality or explore what i'd like to do with them more. that or just draw them all being goober and having a fun time like the above sketch.
Sound effects are finally in the game. yay!
With the exception of the ocean noises I’ve recorded and edited all of the sounds, myself. Also, I’ve learned how to use FMOD to implement the sounds... or, the basics of it, anyway.
All of that took me roughly one month, but hearing all of it in the game makes it absolutely worth it!
Some of the sound effects still need a bunch of polish, and I have to look into optimizing things, so that FMOD does not explode when you crash into 10 buildings, at once... but knowing I’ve made it this far, already, is a huge relief.
Last week my NVMe M.2 SSD died, so I once again have been reminded of the importance of backups, and such, hah. Luckily, my gamedev stuff goes on a git server, so even if I hadn't been able to fully recover my drive's data (and I was, luckily) I at least wouldn't have lost too much work.
To recover my data, I created a Mint linux live USB, booted into linux, created a disk image of my broken (but readable) drive, and restored the image on my new replacement SSD. And, oh, creating the disk image took a whooping ~16 hours, but that still beats setting up Windows and all of my tools, from scratch, haha!
