I love the "rogues gallery" style of storytelling, where each successive opponent has a backstory and monologue about what is important to them, their ideals, their struggles.
The idea here is that these demon hunters seek to absorb demon power, and use it to hunt further. They're all mortals from different backgrounds and universes. United by Sunset Genesis, they yearn to bring about a new day for themselves, a world where they no longer have to suffer under their individual circumstances. They take this and go a step further, chasing larger and larger targets.
They seek Axafiza after she suffers her first defeat--weakened & imprisoned, she is finally an easy target. Left for dead, Axafiza's abilities are split across the team: teleportation, ultra speed, technomancy, and bio-manipulation (respectively).
Of course, Axafiza is very hard to kill, and with the help of a mysterious voice she proceeds to use her base ability of Black Hole Absorption to track down and defeat each member of the team, regaining her other abilities in the process.
