words The boyfriend sent me some posts about the 256fes trend, and I felt inspired to create one of my own 256 poly models based off a model I've been working on recently.

I managed to fit this entirely into the 256 tri budget with none left to spare. There's two 256px textures, one for the body and one for the emissions. I'm sure I could've found a way to make this into one texture, but I didn't feel like learning how to do that at the time.

I'd definitely recommend people to try out a challenge like this, both for fun and to learn about a different modeling style. I had to make a lot of sacrifices on polys in a lot of places, especially with the tail and head. If you're a beginner like me you might feel a little lost or like you've failed when you're at 240 tris and still need to add the hands, feet, and tail, but keep going and you'll find ways to get it done in the end.

edit: Another thing, I know the UVs are super fucked up on this, but I didn't want to redo it all when I realized the issues during texture painting.
