Hibiki the Espeon!

Yeahhhh that header is growing laughably inaccurate. Over a week and a half late, eesh... sorry about that unplanned hiatus! I think I'm finally coming out of the slump I've been in, at least. Let's see, what to talk about...

I'm sure if you're a furry on the internet, you've heard the big (sad) news. Dragoneer, the owner of FurAffinity, one of the longest-running furry sites on the web, passed away recently. And he may not have had to if it wasn't for this country's rotten, fucked up healthcare system. It's a crying shame, and truly marks the passing of an era. My condolences to all those that were close to him.

And yeah, I haven't been shy about my disdain for that site for years now, but this isn't the time for that. And anyone using this time to joke about the situation or insult the dead can piss right off. So don't bother commenting on this if all you have to say is something rude and dismissive about his passing.

With that out of the way, I keep hearing mixed things about the fate of the site. I won't speculate at this point, although as always I want to remind everyone you should spread out anyway. Don't keep all your eggs in one basket, etc. Especially not when there's lots of great smaller sites that you could help grow. Itaku, Weasyl, SoFurry, Cohost, etc. (Obviously, since this is crossposted to those and a few other sites, this is a bit of preaching to the choir in some cases, but still- spread out!)

I recently got a NAS and I've been working on getting it set up, along with reorganizing my hoard of... stuff I've collected online over the years. Yeah, mostly furry art. Bite me! (Actually don't, I know some of you will take that literally. I see you!) And just generally been trying to reorganize and clean things up in my life lately, while battling sleep issues and general lethargy again. Weh. Need to lay off the sillyjuice I think. Pretty sure that and my caffeine addiction are the main culprits.

In other news, I'm still going commission crazy. My poor bank account is screaming. But I can't help myself! Without going into details, suffice to say I got a bit of spending money this past year so I've been using this summer to make up for lost time I suppose, hehe. So far this summer I've commissioned Xing, LightLuxCollie, MachapeStudios, Fuf, SinisterJordex, BlueAshes, and Ketsuo... and I've got more in the works from Daztoons, AlisonKira, Shibeari, Sonafan, and DuskAri. Aaaand I have a few more stickers/emotes I plan to com from Macha, plus that one big com for MHO I plant to get sometime (maybe from Hyilpi, Hioshiru, or, if I can manage to catch when they're open, Akatan), and maybe one or two other small things. But other than that I better slow down. It's addictive commissioning art once you finally have the resources to do so >>;;;

Anyway, on the writing front, like I said I think I'm finally coming out of my unplanned hiatus here. I just uploaded the next Naira aside, and I've started work on the first chapter of part 8, A Wound Awakens. Also, huge shoutout to my friend Emi for not only being awesomely supportive in general, but helping me to proofread! It always helps to have a second set of eyes on these things looking for mistakes, hehe. (Because I swear, no matter how many times I go over things myself, I STILL end up missing things!) I also have several Horizon Springs short stories in various stages of progress, as well as some ideas for other short writing projects I may dabble on here and there to shake things up as needed.

On the personal art front, at least I can say I've been practicing more on that in my writing hiatus! And slowly but surely I think I'm getting somewhere with it, hehe. Following a bunch of great artists that stream regularly definitely helps. Plus I'm in Funkybun's server (wonderful community btw <3) and she periodically gives out great advice and little tutorials for any aspiring artists in the server. It's really great- be sure to check her stuff out if you haven't yet! Keep in mind it's mostly NSFW, but firmly in what I call the "wholesome comfy lewd" category- plus a loooot of LGBT representation, including several fantastic trans characters! (Joss and Rose are two of the best characters aaaa <3)

Anyway, enough tangents. Let me wrap this up by saying I'm going out of town tomorrow and I'll be minimally online until I get back. Luckily I'll be coming back Sunday, so at least it's not long! See you all then!
