As I've been branching out onto other social platforms, I've noticed a lot more sites having a system for content warnings. Personally, I think this is really awesome but I must admit, I'm not sure how best to go about using them...
My understanding is that content warnings are intended to be used to warn viewers of content that could be triggering or distressing. That part is pretty clear to me. What's not clear to me is the fact I've seen a number of content tags that seemed harmless or simply descriptive of an art piece. Are content warnings intended to be used for triggering content or more general descriptive use?
To narrow the scope, I am an AB/DL artist. While a lot of the content I make is mature or for a more niche audience, I wouldn't consider it triggering.
